Organic chemistry:
Organic compounds are molecules that are made up of carbon covalently bonded to other atoms. They mostly contain carbon-hydrogen and carbon-carbon bonds, which we can represent as CH and CC respectively.
Example of organic chemistry:
The examples are hydroxyl group (–OH), aldehyde group (–CHO) and carboxylic acid group (–COOH) etc. A group or a series of organic compounds each containing a characteristic functional group forms a homologous series and the members of the series are called homologues.
